- Small, fast, unobtrusive. Easy to turn off auto-updates. We needed a replacement for Adobe because it download new programs to desktops, slowed stressed computers and interrupted with update balloons, had no network management console. This product resolved all those problems except the management console.

- I went to their site, based on recommendation here, but it seems that this "free" download has strings attached to some of the installed features, at least until a license is purchased. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_eula.htm http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/pricing.htm It seems that they have a number of addons and related software for sale. With the Pro pack they give you one year free, if you want to try, but it is not clear to me that the free Pro pack includes the disabled features in the Reader.

- Much faster than Adobe Reader. Foxit installs without all the junk that Adobe includes, like autoupdates, quicklaunch in your startup group, and the Adobe online garbage.
